"Locksmith"
By Don Crider
1983
ARCADIAN 5, no. 10 (Aug. 16, 1983): 157.
AstroBASIC or Bally BASIC

This program is the August 1983 $100 prize winner for the month. Unlike most
programs released in 1983 (and later), "Locksmith" is compatible with both
versions of Bally and Astro BASIC. The instructions in the Arcadian are
extremely terse and consist of an extremely small line-drawing of the screen
with the text:

Object - Line-up slots with arrow at top.
JX moves slots.
JY selects line.

These are the exact same instructions that Mr. Crider included with his undated
submission letter to the "Arcadian."

For those who have never seen the game at all, the slightly-helpful graphic is
available here:

Archive Notes:

This "Arcadian" program was found in the Bob Fabris Collection; it includes a
graphic title screen. An alternate version is also included in the archive,
which does not have the title screen. As far as Paul knows, it's the same
program. Sometimes, people would include these title screens when submitting
programs to the Arcadian, even though they couldn't be reproduced when the
program was printed.
